#001. Depths expects all its players to act maturely whilst ‘OOC’. Harassment of any kind is not tolerated (types of harassment include: sexual harassment, religious harassment, racial harassment, etc.) and the offender will be punished accordingly.
#002. ith regards to its players acting maturely, Depths allows some forms of ‘chat speak’ which include: lmao, omg, lol. Typing like someone who does not know correct English (‘dis’, ‘kewl’, ‘ur an idiot’, ‘u’, and so on and so forth) is a punishable offence. Please do not slaughter your keyboards and other members’ eyes by typing like that.
#003. Upon reading the above rule, the staff of Depths also expect that its players will not power-play, god-mode or script. For those that do not know what either of these definitions mean, god-mode is when you control another person’s character, power-playing is when you’re in a fight and you don’t let your character take any hits - and scripting is when you post as if you are writing a script (for example; BOB: *moves to the side* This tastes nice! *licks lips*).
#004. If your character has developed a grudge or some sort of hatred against another character, Depths asks that you do not carry the grudge through to ‘OOC’ mode. It is not necessary and there is an obvious difference between ‘IC’ and ‘OOC’, so please note that. It is also an offence and any player(s) that commit it will be punished.
#005. When posting an image within the Depths boards, you must make sure that it complies with the ProBoards Terms of Service. This means that it must not hotlink, it must not contain sexual/racist references (pornography, etcetera) and - as an add on to their TOS - should not stretch the boards. Any images that do stretch the boards will be reduced to a link, and any player found posting inappropriate images will be banned without hesitation and reported.
#006. Once accepted by a member of staff, new members of Depths should post anywhere ‘IC’ within their first week of joining or risk facing deletion. The only exceptions that will be made are if you have contacted a member of staff beforehand and explained that you will be away/will not be able to access Depths for X amount of days.
#007. Like on every site, Depths also does not appreciate inactivity. It is somewhat acceptable during the school months, but if you do start to become inactive, please contact a member of staff whenever you get the chance to and explain why. Otherwise, do attempt to post at least once a week, and if you can’t, take the first option mentioned. #001. Depths is an intermediate-advanced role roleplaying game. This being said, the minimal amount of paragraphs for ‘IC’ posting is two, and that’s five to eight detailed sentences that make up a paragraph. So, in reality, the minimum we’ll accept is ten to sixteen decent sentences, dialogue not included.
#002. Instant relationships are not permitted on Depths. In order to ‘have’ a relationship with a character, your character must have role-played with another character two or more times - and homosexual/bisexual relationships are admitted here.
#003. Characters do have elemental animals but neither your character nor your animal can read other people’s minds or the mind of another person’s animal. Characters and creature may interact and - depending on the role player - the creature may or may not talk. This being said, elemental animals can speak the language of Antica (which, for the sake of Depths, is English) and both the character and their elemental creature can understand and communicate with each other.
#004. Whilst ‘IC’, swearing is allowed. However, please do not go overboard, or else this privilege will be taken away. Depths is for players who can be mature when ‘OOC’ and ‘IC’, and those who can’t be mature will be treated as such.
#005. Depths does have a form of money—alternatively called ‘Munny’. For every post you make, you will earn two ‘Munny’, and when you purchase something, your Munny will decrease. By selling and breeding elementals (if you’re a Breeder or a Hunter), you can also make Munny. Entering competitions also has the potential to make you rich—but if you have any more questions, please contact a member of staff.
#006. Fighting can break out anywhere and this can happen between any combinations of Breeders/Tamers/Trainers/etc. However, if a player chooses not to fight, they can always get their creature to fight for them—although this is risky if one’s animal’s stats are low (compared to the animals of the other people involved).
#007. There are no strict gangs in Depths, although if one does happen to spring up (this will be rare), then your character does or does not have to join the group. If you do want to join the group, however, you will have to ask the leader of the gang to join via messages or through roleplaying. Whether or not you’re accepted is completely up to the leader of the group. Minor Offence: Minor Offences include things like spamming, light harassment and insulting another player whilst ‘OOC’. They can get you a verbal warning and a 10% warning on the warn meter, too, as well as one karma taken away from you.
Medium Offence: Medium Offences include things like repeated harassment, disobeying a member of staff’s instructions and continuous swearing whilst ‘OOC’. For a Medium Offence, the offender can get a 50% warning on the warning meter and a two-day ban from the site.
Large Offence: Large Offences are serious and include things along the lines of posting inappropriate images, continuous spamming and harassment/insulting of members, ignoring staff instructions and being incredibly unruly. A 100% warning will be placed on the member’s warning meter and they will be banned from the site for any length of time that the staff sees fit.
